The post of the Project Surveyor will be responsible for the project management and delivery of planned refurbishment and improvement works to Swindon Borough Council’s housing stock. Your next role As necessary, you will assist with the procurement process, in line with agreed policies and budgets. The post holder will also embrace locality working, support local tenant groups, involve residents and leaseholders and work with partners to improve contract delivery. The role will be agreeing and preparing project brief, design specification and methodology for various planned capital improvement works within the council’s large housing and corporate building portfolio. Other responsibilities include: Managing project delivery including chairing progress meetings with contractors and review and reporting project KPI’s to the delivery manager. Carry out all contract administration tasks in relation to the project Undertaking project feasibility studies and advising on initial costs Budget monitoring; producing project cost reports and reporting to the delivery manager; payment of invoices. Monitoring of contractor’s progress and quality of works including detailed sign offs. About You Track record of project delivery within commercial and housing properties Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel Track record of contract management and management of contractors Experience using Microsoft Project Full driving licence You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
