The Operations Support Operative is an integral part of our team, providing essential support across various operational areas including equipment, tools, and vehicle management. The role involves ensuring the efficient movement of tools, equipment, and vehicles across different sites in the South East UK, while also supporting yard, stores, and workshop activities to maintain operational efficiency. This position contributes to the smooth running of our operations by ensuring that equipment is ready for use, well-maintained, and safely transported as needed.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist the HGV drivers, stores, and workshop with loading and unloading vehicles, organizing equipment, and maintaining an efficient and tidy yard. - Support the workshop team in preparing, running, and testing equipment to ensure functionality and safety. - Assist with pre-delivery inspections to confirm that tools and machinery are in optimal condition before dispatch. - Collaborate with the workshop team on post-hire inspections to assess equipment condition upon return. - Ensure all tools and equipment are clearly labelled, securely stored, and defective items are quarantined as necessary. - Attend toolbox talks, participate in required e-learning courses and attend equipment-related training as necessary. Attend site inductions, and department meetings, ensuring compliance with health and safety rules. - Maintain a tidy work area at all times and assist with the weekly cleaning of the workshop and yard. - Take responsibility for the security of vehicles, equipment, and premises, conducting daily checks to ensure all are in proper working order. - Maintain good timekeeping and productivity. - Comply with site rules and health and safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE. - Minimize waste through proper segregation and safe disposal, using spill kits appropriately and disposing of them safely. - Maintain vehicles used in a clean and tidy condition, performing daily defect inspections. - Work efficiently both independently and as part of the team, supporting colleagues across various operational areas and contributing to a positive team environment. - Provide flexible support across departments, covering for colleagues during absences or busy periods to ensure smooth operations. - Safely operate a 3.5T Transit Van as required to transport tools, equipment, and materials between sites, ensuring all transported items are handled and delivered according to safety and operational standards. - Perform tasks involving the physical handling of equipment and materials, ensuring safe lifting and handling practices are followed.
**Skills & Knowledge**
- Valid UK driving license with Category B 3.5T vehicle (essential) - Previous experience or familiarity with construction/plant tools and equipment (desirable) - Construction industry experience (desirable) - Working in a multi-disciplinary team environment supporting multiple operational areas.
**Technology Skills**
- IT Microsoft Office skills using a laptop & mobile phone for emails, e-learning & online calendar
**Training**
- Manual Handling lifting operations - CSCS Card (desirable) - Site Safety Plus - Health & Safety Awareness (desirable) - CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test (desirable) - Telehandler (desirable)
**Qualifications**
