We are advertising this Maintenance Electrician role on behalf of our client ‘City Facilities Management’. City was established in 1985 and has grown to become one of the world's largest privately held, integrated FM companies.
The role will cover ASDA Superstores in Greenhithe and surrounding regions. However, during the on-call week (1 week in every 4), you would cover a larger area and be available 24/7.

THE JOB:
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, but applicants should be flexible for a rostered out-of-hours on-call service, which includes weekends (1 week in every 4). The role involves maintaining and repairing a range of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment, including bakery, catering equipment, compactors, lighting, and other static and portable electrical equipment, systems, and circuitry. This position is suitable for individuals from a retail, manufacturing, catering, or factory maintenance background.
Other responsibilities will include: (not an exhaustive list)
* Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
* Respond promptly to service call requests from the Helpdesk and assess job requirements to carry out repairs.
* Prioritize maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
* Order spares according to laid down procedures.
* Carry out minor alterations and installations within technical competence and current specifications.
* Liaise with project teams on store alterations, modernizations, and relevant works.
* Advise the General Manager of any repair and maintenance issues that may affect store operations.
THE PERSON:
To be considered for this position, the following qualifications and papers are essential:
* Full driving licence
* Electrical qualification to City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2 OR City & Guilds 2330 Levels 2 & 3 OR NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* Good interpersonal skills
* Building Maintenance and PPM background/experience
Desirable: Time-served Electrical Apprenticeship.
