Senior Health & Safety Manager
Salary: circa £70,000

The successful individual would be responsible for leading and managing the health and safety function across the organisation, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, and fostering a culture of safety. This role requires strong communication skills to engage with executive leadership and influence strategic decision-making.
A bit about the job:
Day to day duties would include:
1. Developing and implementing the organisation's health and safety strategy.
2. Providing expert advice to the executive team on health and safety matters.
3. Influencing and contributing to the development of organisational policies and procedures.
4. Ensuring compliance with all health and safety legislation and standards.
5. Conducting regular audits and risk assessments.
6. Developing and maintaining health and safety management systems.
7. Designing and delivering health and safety training programs.
8. Mentoring and supporting health and safety staff.
9. Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
10. Preparing and presenting detailed reports to the executive team.
The position holder will be required to:
1. Communicate health and safety performance and initiatives across the organisation.
2. Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety matters with external stakeholders.
3. Lead investigations into health and safety incidents.
4. Develop and implement corrective actions.
5. Monitor and report on incident trends and statistics.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
1. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in health and safety is essential.
2. Chartered Member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) is preferred.
3. Extensive experience in a senior health and safety role.
4. Experience in developing and implementing health and safety strategies.
5. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
6. Strong leadership and management abilities.
7. A proven track record of influencing at executive level.
8. Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
9. The ability to work under pressure whilst managing multiple priorities.
10. Proactive and self-motivated, with strong attention to detail.
