GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a hugely successful, specialist surface treatment provider located in Oxfordshire. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for a Production Team Leader to join their team on a full-time permanent contract.
This position is working rotational shifts 6-2 and 2-10 offering a highly competitive salary of up to £40,000 per annum which is dependant on relevant experience.
The successful Production Team Leader will have a background in a manufacturing or a production environment within a senior position and is used to working well in a small team.
Responsibilities:
1. Run a line in Line Leader's absence.
2. Be responsible for some administration tasks required to run the business (including planning shift work).
3. Supervise and lead the shift - Team reports directly to Team Leader. Team Leader reports to Production Manager.
4. Take ownership of the shift and any issues.
5. Oversee day-to-day operations.
6. Communicate goals and deadlines to the team.
7. Ensure processes are followed at all times.
8. Ensure Health and Safety rules are followed at all times.
9. Be responsible for production targets on their shift.
10. Monitor team performance and report on metrics.
11. Overlook inventory stock.
12. 60% of the day to be direct hours (productive), 40% on management and administration.
13. Report to MPS on production performance against plan.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. Previous Team Leader experience in a manufacturing environment.
2. Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
3. This is an active role where the operator is on their feet for most of the shift.
4. Understanding of 5S improvements within an engineering environment.
5. Understanding of Health and Safety regulations within the workplace.
6. Computer literate.
7. Problem solver.
8. Works well under pressure.
9. Makes decisions.
