The Group Response Operations Manager will lead the Group Response & Intelligence Centre operations team, ensuring the effective monitoring and response to security incidents globally. This role involves overseeing the daily operations, operational planning, development and continuous improvement of the GRIC, ensuring the safety and security of the organisation's assets, employees, and operations.
What you'll do:
1. Leadership and Management:
1. Oversee and manage a team of 24/7/365 GRIC Operators, including hiring, training, and performance management.
2. Develop and implement response goals and objectives.
3. Develop & deliver robust processes, procedures and support training programmes.
4. Forge a positive and collaborative team environment.
2. Operational Oversight:
1. Oversee the daily operations of the GRIC ensuring effective monitoring, incident response, and communication.
2. Management of Sky’s Travel Risk Management (TRM) systems and tools.
3. Provide support to international travellers.
4. Ensure the GRIC operates 24/7, maintaining high standards of performance and readiness.
5. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for GRIC operations.
6. Form part of an OOH escalation capability in support of GRIC operators.
7. Ensure Response KPI’s & SLA’s are met.
3. Incident Management:
1. Coordinate the response to security incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
2. Ownership for Sky's accounting of people process (SIREN) at the start of, during, and in the aftermath of an incident.
3. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders during incidents, providing accurate and timely information.
4. Conduct after-action reviews and implement improvements based on lessons learned.
4. Technology and Systems:
1. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of GRIC technologies, including surveillance systems, access control, travel management and alert notification platforms and communication tools.
2. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance GRIC capabilities.
3. Ensure data integrity and security of GRIC systems.
5. Risk Management:
1. Conduct risk assessments and threat analyses to identify potential security vulnerabilities.
2. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and response plans.
3. Monitor global events and trends to anticipate and prepare for potential security impacts.
6. Compliance and Reporting:
1. Ensure GRIC operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
2. Prepare and present regular reports on GRIC activities, incidents, and performance metrics.
3. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to GRIC operations.
7. Training and Development:
1. Develop and deliver training programs for GRIC staff on security protocols, incident response, and technology use.
2. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging threats, incorporating new knowledge into GRIC training and operations.
3. Promote continuous professional development within the GRIC team.
What you'll bring:
1. Ideally the successful candidate would hold an industry qualification in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
2. Proven experience managing a 24/7 Global Security Operations Centre preferably in a global or multi-site context.
3. Travel Risk Management and incident response experience.
4. Strong knowledge of security technologies, systems, and best practices.
5. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions in a timely manner.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Relevant certifications (e.g., CPP) or membership to a professional Industry body are highly desirable.
