We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to the position of Neonatal Clinical Skills Facilitator who will work across both Maternity and Neonatal environments.
The post holder will work strategically and operationally to promote the teaching, training, and ongoing development of staff providing Neonatal care ensuring patient safety, evidence-based practice, staff experience, and service user experience is an active ongoing process within the teams.
The successful candidate will work in partnership with Neonatal Matron, Ward Managers, and Neonatal and Maternity Education teams to create a robust staff development, recruitment, and retention strategy.
Main duties of the job
JOB SUMMARY
1. The post holder will be responsible for providing support, educational input, and development opportunities for all registered and unregistered staff involved in Neonatal care, ensuring staff are encouraged to achieve their full potential and clinical effectiveness.
2. This experienced practitioner will facilitate Neonatal education in any clinical area providing Neonatal Care to support staff, ensuring the development and maintenance of a learning environment where both education and lifelong learning are integral to clinical practice.
3. They will act as an expert practitioner/role model to support staff within to develop and maintain clinical practice knowledge and skills.
4. They will link with the South West Neonatal network education group to assist in developing, coordinating, evaluating, and implementing education programmes to be utilised within the clinical setting.
5. They will enhance the quality of the learning experience and positively contribute to the development of the workforce, in line with local and national directives.
6. The post holder will support the clinical teams in meeting standards as identified by the Care Quality Commission, British Association of Perinatal Medicine, NICE guidance, and other professional/regulatory bodies.

Person specification
Qualifications
* NMC registered RN Degree level
* Qualified in Speciality Neonatal accreditation
* Mentorship or training qualification
* Evidence of further study
* Introduction to teaching qualification or willingness to work towards
* NLS (Newborn Life Support) assessor
* ARNI (Advanced Resuscitation of the Newborn)
Experience
* Experienced in teaching Neonatal skills within Neonatal clinical areas.
* Can evidence working within collaborative teams providing specialist care.
* Experience working in Transitional care unit supporting education.
Additional Experience
* Postgraduate accumulative experience in Neonates.
* Experience of motivational teamwork.
