Sellick Partnership is proud to be working with Barnsley Council's exceptional legal services team in the heart of South Yorkshire. We are looking for a Planning and Highways Lawyer to join their growing legal team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a large team on a permanent basis and take on some really exciting work.
Key responsibilities of the Planning and Highways Lawyer role:
1. Manage your own caseload of planning and highway matters.
2. Work autonomously on your own matters, particularly schedule 106 agreements.
3. Advise on section 279 matters.
4. Deal with planning enforcement matters.
5. Advise on statutory reviews of decisions if planning inspectorate.
6. Undertake planning committee work.
7. Build relationships with existing clients and seek out avenues for new business for the service.
Experience required for the Planning and Highways Lawyer role:
1. Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive.
2. Previous experience within planning law from either a private practice or public sector setting.
