Our client seeks to appoint a General Manager to take the reins of overall operational activities, ensuring human and capital resources are utilized, developed and integrated to optimum levels.
The suitable candidate for this role will be a leader who exudes charisma and can demonstrate admirable people management skills with the ability to command respect from all divisions of the business.
Interpersonal Management
1. Implement staff training where deemed necessary.
2. Be the first point of contact with staff.
3. Ensure that sufficient staff resources are in place to operate to maximum efficiency.
4. Support and motivate staff to achieve maximum output and profit.
5. Ensure that staff are incentivized where appropriate.
6. Liaise with key departmental heads.
Strategies and Objectives
1. Set and manage annual performance targets within the budget process.
2. Ensure that revenue and profitability targets set in the budget are met.
3. Ensure that operations contribute to the overall strategy and development of the business.
4. Deliver an excellent service to customers, providing ultimate satisfaction to drive growth.
5. Achieve and exceed company expectations.
6. Continuously monitor the marketplace through research and analysis.
7. Be responsible for Profit and Loss.
8. Ensure the correct and balanced deployment of resources is in place.
Operational Management
1. Ensure work undertaken is produced within agreed timescales and contractual obligations with clients are met in full.
2. Challenge processes for continual improvement.
Key Skills & Attributes
1. Possess an overall understanding of business operations.
2. At least 5 years’ experience in the last 15 years at Sales Director level.
3. A sound knowledge of the printing or packaging industry.
4. A strong problem solver and decision maker.
5. Demonstrates communication, influencing, and negotiating skills.
6. Impeccable report writing and presentation skills.
