We are looking for a System Controls Engineer with expertise in PLC and HMI development to join our software team. You will design and develop software for our distributed battery control and energy management systems, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and responsiveness over a 25-year lifespan.
This is a hybrid role requiring in-office presence 2 days a week or 8 days a month.
Role & Responsibilities
* Design and develop PLC code using structured text and ladder logic.
* Develop algorithms for energy management and battery control.
* Optimize system performance for high reliability and efficiency.
* Promote good software engineering practices through reviews and documentation.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
* 2 to 5 years of experience with ladder and structured text programming.
* Experience with field bus protocols like Modbus and Ethernet protocols.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Experience working in agile environments and taking initiative in design.
Desirable
* Hands-on experience with Mitsubishi PLCs/HMIs or Wago PFC.
* Knowledge of other text-based programming languages.
* Experience with prototype projects and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
* Familiarity with tools such as Git, Jira, and Confluence.
