Role Overview:
To join a dedicated management team in older people and work closely with colleagues from health in providing a service to older people with both functional and/or organic Severe Mental Health issues. To lead and support a multidisciplinary team in providing a responsive and effective service.
Key Responsibilities:
* To provide effective leadership and direction to staff within the OP CMHT ensuring the quality of work and providing regular supervision.
* To co-work with health colleagues in ensuring the allocation of work and looking at the development of the team.
* To liaise with colleagues in Adult Social Care to ensure that the team are aware of the council agenda and meet the targets & ways of working.
Key Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:
* Experience of working in Mental Health Services with Older People.
* A working knowledge of the Mental health legislation: Mental health Act, 1983, Mental Capacity Act, 2005, and experience in undertaking strengths based assessments under the Care Act, 2014.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with users of the OP CMHT, their carers & families and the wider MDT.
* Enthusiasm to support individual staff and to develop their skills & practice.
