About the Role
Magna Advanced Automation (MAA) is an operating unit of Magna International, one of the world's premier global automotive suppliers. Magna's pioneering technology and creativity allow our customers to ask for solutions that lie beyond what they previously thought was possible.
Magna Advanced Automation UK has established a manufacturing facility in Telford, UK, specializing in Automation (designing, building, commissioning, and installing assembly cells for both an internal and external customer base) and High-Pressure Die-Casting (HPDC) tooling.
Your Responsibilities
1. Lead and direct the work of others.
2. Manage and coordinate all activities for scheduling jobs and managing Manufacturing Toolmakers, Electrical Technicians, CNC operators, and CNC programming personnel for:
1. Manufacturing of components for Assembly and/or Automation Cells
2. Installation of Assembly and/or Automation Cells in our Telford facility and the customer's facility
3. Mechanical and Electrical Commissioning of Assembly and/or Automation Cells
4. Machining of components and inserts for Aluminium Casting Dies
5. Assembly of Aluminium Casting Dies
6. Machining of miscellaneous components
7. CNC programming
3. Develop a proactive, agile, project delivery focused culture to enable a high-performance automation assembly and HPDC tooling business.
Who we are looking for
You will have:
1. People management skills, with the proven ability to manage and develop a Team (20+ people) and coach the Operations Leader.
2. 3-5 years solid technical background in Machining, Toolmaking, die inserts, and CNC fixtures.
3. The ability to develop weekly and monthly production plans and execute those plans.
4. Automotive, automation, engineering, or manufacturing background.
5. Sound business understanding and good mathematical aptitude.
6. Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
7. An appropriate Engineering qualification.
8. Industry 4.0 knowledge.
