Job summary Senior Clinical Fellow -Bariatrics Fixed-Term: 6 months This is a newly created post and aims to support the Bariatric, Upper GI and General Surgery Department at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital. A Senior Clinical Fellow is sought to work as part of the specialist Upper GI/Bariatric Surgery team at both sites of the Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be a senior registrar equivalent with experience in General, Upper GI & Laparoscopic Surgery looking to further develop their knowledge and skills in this area. Experience in Bariatric Surgery is desirable. Main duties of the job The candidate must have achieved, or be working towards their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent. Working as part the Bariatric Unit, the post-holder will work with senior consultant colleagues, CNS, dietitians, psychologists and endocrinologists to deliver excellent care for our patients. Whilst the post is not formally recognised as a training post by the deanery, excellent teaching and training opportunities exist for the successful candidate. The post-holder will undertake General Surgery on-call duties. The post-holder will be required to undertake further General Surgery (theatre lists and clinics) service commitments as required.
