Head of Engineer Training The Head of Engineer Training will be an experienced and dynamic training & development professional ideally from an engineering maintenance background (or similar). The successful candidate will lead our division s efforts in developing and implementing effective training programmes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying training needs, designing and delivering engaging learning solutions, and fostering a culture of continuous development. What you re responsible for Training Strategy : Develop and execute a comprehensive training and development strategy aligned with divisional goals and objectives. Needs Assessment : Conduct training needs assessments through surveys, interviews, and performance data analysis to identify skill gaps and areas for improvement. Programme Development: Design, implement, and manage training programs, workshops, and learning resources tailored to different roles and levels within the division to assist in upskilling and multi-skilling the existing engineering workforce. Succession Development: Develop leadership training initiatives to prepare high-potential employees for future leadership roles. Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes through feedback, metrics, and performance improvements. Technology Integration : Leverage learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms to deliver and track training activities. Collaboration : Partner with department heads, external training providers, further education, higher education providers and HR to align training programmes with business objectives and employee career development plans. Budget Management : Manage the training and development budget effectively, ensuring maximum ROI on learning initiatives. Compliance: Ensure all training programmes comply with relevant regulations and industry standards. Work In Partnership: Work in partnership with Bellrock s HR & Organisational Development Teams to ensure initiatives, resources and L&D processes are harmonised. Apprenticeship Management : Ensure apprentices reach their full potential. Oversee and manage the expansion of apprenticeships opportunities within the engineering department. Your knowledge, skills, and qualifications Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training methodologies. Experience working in an engineering environment or similar (construction, FM property maintenance etc). Degree in Human Resources, Organisational Development or a related field. Proven experience in training and development or a similar role. Evidence of CPD. Experience with LMS platforms and e-learning tools. Familiarity with change management practices. Ability to present management information in a clear and structured format. Ability to analyse data and metrics to drive decisions and improvements in training programmes. Be the perfect fit.
