Software Sales Manager - (Engineering Software / Water Engineering)
We are looking for a dynamic business leader to join our Senior Leadership Team and manage our new software products business. This role goes beyond software development or business development. You'll be responsible for expanding our software business and driving global growth in this area, including overseeing profit and loss. Your aim will be to foster, develop, and capitalise on innovative software tools and technologies that align with our company strategy and successfully bring them to market. Our goal is to double the size of the software business over the next three years.
We have existing commercial software teams based in the UK and internationally. This global role is based at our headquarters in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, with opportunities for hybrid working. The position will require extensive travel to ensure smooth operations and strategic alignment across all teams.

* Innovation and leadership – contributing to the five-year strategy and ensuring emerging software-related research and innovation are met
About you
To qualify, you will need a degree in business, engineering, or science, or substantial senior-level experience. Demonstrable financial capability is essential, including understanding the drivers of software development and sales costs. Significant experience in software sales and familiarity with software development is required.
You should have experience managing an international sales team and reseller networks, with evidence of running a commercially oriented internal software sales team and reselling partner network. Proven skills in people management, data analysis, and budget management are also essential. You must be able to demonstrate a strong focus on the latest software development techniques.
You will be able to demonstrate leadership skills with a track record of critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Independent working, taking the initiative, and staying calm under pressure will be essential. In addition, you need to be confident and articulate with the credibility to persuade, good communication skills, influence, and be diplomatic.
This successful candidate will need to be based within a commutable distance to our offices in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. We are happy to explore flexible working arrangements although substantial time in our offices will be required to integrate with our head office teams.
