Sales Team Leader
The role:
As a Sales Team Leader, your role will be to maximise the performance of your team of Travel Consultants, driving them to hit individual and team sales targets following our ITG Sales as Service approach. You’ll coach, inspire, guide, and motivate your team to get the most out of every individual, supporting them to hone their sales skills, deepen their destination knowledge, and excel at customer service.
Key responsibilities:
1. Accountable for the performance of your team of Travel Consultants (up to 7), maximising their potential to convert enquiries to bookings at a high rate while providing world-class customer service.
2. Maximising all opportunities, ensuring each new client enquiry is given the best chance to convert, and handling any complaints effectively.
3. Building a supportive team culture for all individuals, whether office-based, hybrid, or fully remote, motivating and inspiring them to reach their potential while encouraging personal responsibility and ownership.
4. Delivering training sessions and ensuring learning is effectively embedded.
5. Actively looking for opportunities for improvement from all team members, using data to analyse performance.
What we are looking for from you:
1. Extensive sales experience, ideally in travel.
2. Excellent complaint resolution skills, aligning with ITG “Sales as Service” ethos.
3. Strong coaching skills; ability to guide and coach others to fulfil their potential.
4. Strong interpersonal skills, able to establish rapport and build relationships quickly and effectively.
5. First-rate communicator, able to adapt style and approach to suit different audiences/contexts.
6. Proven leadership ability, whether gained in a personal or professional capacity.
7. Exceptional teamwork skills, and an understanding of successful team dynamics.
8. First-hand knowledge of our destinations – Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia & Borneo is beneficial but not required.
