GSL Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide tailored support for students with SEMH needs. This includes one-on-one and group work, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment, and assisting in the delivery of engaging lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
* Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons that meet individual needs.
* Use behaviour management strategies to support a positive learning environment.
* Help students develop social and emotional skills to enhance their overall development.
* Prepare classroom materials and resources to support learning activities.
* Work collaboratively with staff and external agencies to provide holistic support for students.
About You:
* Previous experience supporting students with SEMH needs is desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and resilience in managing challenging situations.
* A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students and teachers.
* Hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
