The purpose of this post is to work effectively with the class teacher(s) to support play-based, child-centred pedagogy within primary.
The main duties of the Play Support Worker are:
* Working with the class teacher(s), and through sensitive interactions, support children to develop their literacy and numeracy skills in a developmentally appropriate way.
* To develop positive, nurturing and supportive relationships with children.
* Taking the lead of the class teacher(s) to develop nurturing and supportive relationships with the children and where appropriate, with parents and carers.

Cullivoe Primary School is a non-denominational school located in Cullivoe, Yell. It provides primary education to P7 for children from North Yell. The structure of the school is one primary class. There is currently a total of 7 pupils on the roll. The school is managed by a Head Teacher. The current staffing complement is one part time teacher supporting the Head Teacher assisted by support staff as required to meet school demands. The current Head Teacher is Mrs Claire Lawson.

* Salary shown in the advert is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £1.4202 per hour
* Permanent Part Time post for 2.5 Hours per Week, 39.00 weeks per year plus 6.24 weeks (pro rata) paid holiday to be taken during school holidays.
* Preferred candidates will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update
* A relocation package does not apply to this post
