We are looking for a Womenswear Pattern Cutter to join our team in Nottingham. The primary duties of this role include creating accurate patterns to the design and technical requirements, ensuring that garments are produced to seasonal development and production deadlines and meet the Paul Smith required standards. Please note, this role requires that you submit an online link within the application form to a portfolio containing work examples, this should be available for 4 weeks after the advert closing date. The Role Produce sample patterns as required, to the design and technical requirements within seasonable deadlines. Proficiently use the Assyst Computer Pattern Cutting System to create development patterns. Resolve any issues that may arise with patterns when used by factories or by in-house Sample Machinists. Contact factories to resolve sample pattern problems and liaise with technical design staff, as required. Attend fitting sessions and make accurate notes relating to pattern alterations. Alter patterns in accordance with fitting details prior to grading deadlines. Assist with pattern grading as and when required. Be knowledgeable of all main systems and procedures within the pattern cutting area. Your Skills and Experience Proven credible experience of creative pattern cutting and fitting. Experience of working with Design and Technical teams. Knowledge of working with factories in a variety of locations. Meticulous attention to detail especially when following design specifications. Clear and concise communication skills, with a notable numerical aptitude. Creative when producing patterns from design sketches. Up to date with Womenswear trends. Who you are Highly methodical and accurate. Highly organised with good prioritisation skills to set deadlines. Comfortable working as part of a team or independently as required.
