Employer Engagement Co-ordinator Advert Reference Number: 415 Job Location: Nottingham Department: Careers and Employability Services Salary: £26,642 to £29,659 Closing Date: 4 December 2024 Weekly Working Hours: 37 Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract Fixed Term Contract: End Date: 1 December 2026 Welsh Language Standard: Not Applicable : About the Role The role of the the Employer Engagement Co-ordinator is to support the promotion of OU students and alumni to employers and employer organisations across the UK and globally in order to enhance the reputation of the OU as a supplier of talent and skills. Working alongside the Employer Engagement and Placement Team in Careers and Employability Services (CES), you will work on a broad range of activities, such as publicising opportunities to students and alumni, supporting with placements, gathering feedback from key stakeholders and assisting with the organisation of online events. You will also be responsible for participating in the delivery of key operational activities (e.g. forums/webinars and events) and providing administrative support to Careers and Employability Services. An important aspect of this will be the collection and collation of statistical reports measuring impact of the service. Work location It is anticipated that a hybrid working pattern can be adopted for this role, where you can work from home and the office. However, as this role is contractually aligned to our Nottingham office it is expected that some attendance in the office will be required when necessary and in response to business needs. We’d expect this to be approximately once a month. Key Responsibilities To liaise with employers, external professional bodies, colleagues and students to support the provision of job opportunities, as well as to establish and maintain effective relationships, exchange relevant information and ensure the accuracy of employability-related information Provide information and advice to students, alumni and employers on all aspects of the internship process. To organise and deliver administrative support for the Placement and wider Employer Engagement team to process, advertise and promote vacancies, record progress, run reports from the system, and co-ordinate the delivery of operational activities related to employer engagement and events To liaise with relevant departments and colleagues across the university especially faculties, the Business Development Unit, Marketing and Communications Unit, and Alumni, and supporting the promotion of Careers and Employability Services internally and externally To provide research support in respect of potential new employer partners, meeting preparation, careers resources and industry news, events and developments To coordinate, collate and present statistical feedback to measure the impact of activities with employers on our students’ careers and employability prospects To have an understanding of employability issues and relevant resources, higher education provision and in particular the Open University’s curriculum and support mechanisms. Skills and Experience Essential: A good standard of general education including GCSE Maths and English grade C or above, or equivalent Experience of developing new and existing relationships with a diverse customer base, and responding effectively to queries Strong interpersonal and communication skills including oral and written, in both formal and informal situations with people across a range of areas and levels Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel and ability to use a range of IT and management information systems, and search for and use online resources where appropriate Good planning, prioritising and organisational skills, including the ability to work accurately under pressure and to meet targets and deadlines Ability to work independently and to take the initiative to solve problems and deal with issues whilst recognising boundaries Ability to work collaboratively with other individuals or teams – engaging in person and virtually.
