Job Description
Position: MIG Welder - Permanent Role
Our Client is one of the fastest growing precision engineering and manufacturing companies in the UK, specialising in the design, manufacture, and assembly of precision engineered parts, components, and devices.
Primary Purpose: Refurbishment and repairing of carriages using various welding techniques/positions including overhead and vertical. You would be working in collaboration with the Welding Team Leader, Production Engineering, and the Quality Department.
Salary: £32K - £38K. Day (AM) & night shifts PLUS plenty of overtime available, weekdays paid at time and a half and weekends double pay.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform welding operations using various techniques.
2. Need to have a strong level of experience with overhead and vertical welding.
3. Prepare metal materials for fabrication and welding.
4. Ensure orders are completed to the correct standard, within budget, and on time to meet the company Quality Objectives.
5. Work from customer drawings and specifications to produce parts in accordance with the Quality - Code of Practice.
Person Specification:
1. Experience in MIG welding working with 2mm - 10mm.
2. Good practical skills in sanding and dressing of fabricated items to high standards.
3. Ability to read and fully understand engineering drawings and tolerances.
4. Able to work well within a team, demonstrating willingness and flexibility as required.
5. Minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Welding or City of Guilds certification is essential for this role.
