The employer is looking for qualified and unqualified workers. For qualified roles, there is an option to start the role as a trainee while completing the qualification. There are multiple posts covering either Leicester City and/or Leicestershire County. Posts covering the County require the post holder to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes. The essential qualities of both Domestic and Sexual Abuse Support Workers are: Experience working in a paid or unpaid capacity with relevant support, information and advice service Experience of working with children and/or young people An understanding of abuse and the ways in which this can affect individuals An understanding of multi-agency working, including safeguarding procedures An ability to work flexibly, as required, including evening and weekend work Experience in using basic IT programmes, email and the internet Due to the remit of this work a satisfactory DBS is essential Your main responsibilities will include: To deliver one-to-one support To deliver group sessions Work with multi-agency processes to maintain the safety of clients To deliver training and awareness sessions with local practitioners Due to the remit of the organisation to provide services to vulnerable women and children, and hence the sensitive nature of the work roles of the organisation, only female applicants for posts are considered, in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9 Part I).
