Site Engineer

The Opportunity
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the technical viability of the project works, (or part of the project works). Participate in the health and safety, quality, environmental and commercial management of the project.
What you will be doing
* Maintaining excellent and effective working relationships with the customer and their representatives/advisors.
* Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems on site.
* Supporting initiatives to deliver ongoing continuous improvement.
* Ensuring that the project works comply with the requirements of the contract specification and drawings etc.
* Produce accurate quality control plans, undertake and record inspections all in accordance with the companies Integrated Management System.
* Line and level control of construction elements.
* Read, interpret and communicate drawings and documents and provide accurate as built records.
* Work with the rest of the site team and our supply chain to ensure site operations are carried out to the highest health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
* Produce / review method statements and risk assessments.
* Produce short term programmes and provide progress information to site management.
* Identify, accurately measure and specify basic site material requirements and raise requisitions.
* Review designs and setting out information for accuracy and buildability.
* Maintain accurate daily diary records of site operations, resources. plant and equipment and deliveries
* Provide occasional site cover for the Site Manager
* Completion of accurate perimetry paperwork (Permit to dig, etc)
* Any other duties relevant to the role.
What we will need from you
* Appropriate technical knowledge and main contractor construction experience;
* Degree (or similar equivalent) in a relevant construction subject (essential);
* Safety Level 1 course;
* Appropriate CSCS Card;
* Comprehensive experience as a Site Engineer working for a main contractor (essential);
* Experience as a Graduate or Trainee Site Engineer.
