We are looking for a passionate ‘foodie’ who loves to eat and cook, to join the team at the lively and bustling Crown Hotel Bawtry & Bawtry Hall. This a role for a production chef in an exciting 4* hotel and exclusive wedding venue. You will work under the guidance of experienced chefs to learn the fundamentals of cooking and food preparation.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
This role is designed for individuals passionate about culinary arts and eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This job will give you the experience you need to work in the catering industry, and your skills will be in high demand for the foreseeable future.
Recently installed inside the Crown Hotel restaurant, the Robata Grill is a method of cooking over hot charcoal (like a BBQ!) and makes food taste totally delicious. If you have never used a Robata Grill before full training will be given.
General duties include but are not limited to:
* Assist in food preparation for wedding and functions at the Crown Hall and Bawtry Hall
* Assist in food preparation for our Restaurant and Terrace food service, learning all aspects of a Robata Grill
* Being part of an extensive kitchen team, working under the supervision of the Head Chef or Sous Chef
* Learn and apply various cooking techniques, food safety, allergy training
* Help in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, measuring, and mixing
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and workstations
* Support the team during service by ensuring dishes are prepared and plated according to the restaurant’s standards
* Observe and learn various culinary skills, recipes, and techniques from senior chefs
* Participate in menu planning and development as skills progress

Other requirements
You must be able to travel to and from work and college. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week). The Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage guide is updated every April (ANMW):
