We are expanding our development team at the Language Technologies Unit, Canolfan Bedwyr, Bangor University and intend to recruit a new junior software developer.
The successful candidate will join a team of software engineers and language experts and will work to develop and revise interfaces for computer programs, websites and apps incorporating text, speech and translation technologies for Welsh and other less-resourced languages.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant degree or equivalent and be able to share a portfolio of relevant work.
The ability to communicate informally in Welsh within the team is essential, and support will be offered to successful candidates seeking to improve their Welsh language skills.

The successful candidate will be expected to start in the post in January 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The initial agreement for this role will last until the end of July 2026. The extension of the post beyond that date will depend on the securing of further funding.
