An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer based at the Bradford site of a global leading refrigeration provider. This role will involve reporting to the Facilities Manager and will cover both preventative and reactive maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role in a production-based environment and hold a relevant qualification.
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1. The role will support the business needs for a wide variety of reactive, planned preventative, and facility maintenance.
2. Mechanical and control system reactive maintenance to production machinery.
3. First response to plumbing, heating, and building fabric maintenance.
4. Installation of small works projects including 6S and production improvements.
5. Support during new capital installations.
6. Liaise with and assist external contractors where required.
7. Compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards, and promote good health, safety, and environmental practices.
8. Housekeeping maintained to 6’s standards.
9. Any reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by management.
Experience and Key Skills:
1. Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
2. Level 3 NVQ or Higher in Mechanical/Maintenance Engineering/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
3. Electrical fault finding experience on large control cabinets.
4. Able to understand engineering drawings and documentation.
5. Hands-on, practical approach.
6. Knowledge of Lean Principles.
7. Knowledge of Health and Safety principles and practices.
8. Standard IT skills (Excel, Word).
9. Communication skills (especially fact-finding, giving instructions or explanations).
10. A valid driving license.
11. 3a and 3b MEWP license, counterbalance FLT license required (training provided).
