We are looking for a Courier Driver to work in the Oldham area, working on our Oldham NHS Property Services contract. This a permanent part time position 08:30-19:30 including 30-minute unpaid break Thursday - Friday and 3 hours on a Saturday Total of 24 hours per week. The main purpose of this courier driver role will be to contribute to the safe and timely movement and transportation of goods and equipment. The role will require excellent communication skills with customers, colleagues and other stakeholders to maintain the highest standards. Using electronic and paper based forms of recording jobs and items delivered and collected, making sure that all courier jobs are carried out correctly and on time. The Main responsibilities are: To carry out courier journeys to various locations and to agreed routes and timings. To complete digital and manual documentation required by both legislation and organisational procedures To maintain regular contact with the operations office using a range of communication systems To ensure all items are kept safe and secure at all times To comply at all times with the Road Traffic Act while driving and other relevant legislation connected to the vehicle To act as customer contact at delivery points of service, and relay relevant information to the operations office To complete vehicle checks prior to use, and to notify any defects to the Operations Office verbally and by recording on appropriate documentation To act in a polite and courteous manner to customers and road users at all times You MUST have held a Full UK Manual Driving Licence for a minimum of 12 months and have no more than 6 penalty points We would like to hear from you if you can demonstrate: The ability to work on own initiative Must be able to plan routes effectively Must be a good communicator Customer focused Skills and Abilities Able to remain calm under pressure Good problem solving skills Good communicator Good literacy and numeracy skills Attention to detail Must be able to use a PDA,(however training will be given) Good/Clear handwriting Please note that this role will be subject to several regulatory pre-employment checks, and you will be asked to provide details of your full employment history should you be invited to an interview.
