As a shift supervisor, you will guarantee that safety, quality, efficiency, delivery, and cost objectives connected to shift production activities are achieved, in compliance with Group policies.
Shifts are: 4 on 4 off. We operate 24/7, 365 days a year. Shift patterns may slightly vary initially.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities of the Shift Supervisor
1. People – Production employees directly; Engineers and Warehouse employees on shift indirectly (for co-ordination and immediate prioritisation).
2. Optimise employee effectiveness via communication, objective setting, and training.
3. Lead and supervise personnel via performance management.
4. Lead/participate in investigations.
5. Drive the Run to Standards Model.
6. Promote a safety-focused culture.
7. Promote Guiding Principles and values.
8. Conduct Team Briefs.
9. Update Training plan and Matrix.
10. Involved in the recruitment of new Operators.
11. Conduct GMP Audits.
12. Champion ‘Safety Culture’ and be an ambassador for ‘Behavioural Based Safety’.
13. Report all H&S issues in line with business procedures.
14. Ensure that products meet required Product Specification.
15. Inspire employees by creating targets and objectives, providing training and guidance for them to succeed.
16. Demonstrate the right behaviour and set the same expectations of employees, including Respect, Integrity, Discipline and Routine, Sense of Urgency.
17. Supervise direct reports and use performance management framework to develop operators' skills and knowledge.
18. Promote innovative solutions to maximize efficiency.
19. Co-operate with maintenance office to guarantee the best possible production efficiency.
20. Coordinate with other functions in charge of equipment operation.
21. Ensure employees understand the critical success factors to high efficiency are the inputs in Run to Standards.
22. Control paper and raw material waste on shift.
23. Manage Labour Cost control.
24. Be an active team player engaging in cross-functional working across the business, enabling faster decision making, increased innovation, and improving problem solving.
Job Requirements
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1. Proven experience in a supervisory role within the manufacturing industry.
2. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
3. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
4. A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong organisational skills.
5. Great attention to detail.
