Job Description:
This is a sub-contract machine shop in the Halesowen area in the West Midlands. The field of work includes small batch work, one-offs on various small to medium components from aerospace to steam engines. They are currently looking to recruit a milling programmer setter operator. This is a permanent position offering a good working environment and the opportunity to work within a strong and friendly team in a thriving and successful business.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. To programme, set, and operate CNC vertical milling machines to run efficiently and also set machines for operators.
2. To accurately read and interpret engineering drawings (metric and English).
3. To accurately produce CNC programs to manufacture products on-time and to exact customer specifications using One CNC CAD CAM Software XR6.
4. Assist in the development of new and existing manufacturing processes and procedures to optimise performance.
5. Responsible for machining own jigs and fixtures.
6. To help train/develop other personnel in all aspects of the cell.
Knowledge/Experience Required:
1. Experience of setting and programming Haas and Dai-Lih VMC (Fanuc Controls).
2. Experience within a manufacturing environment.
3. Apprentice trained with at least 5 years’ experience.

Hours and Salary:
Standard week is 40 hours, consisting of working either 6 till 2 or 7 till 3, Monday to Friday. Break times are one 20-minute break Monday to Friday, which may be broken down into two ten-minute breaks if needed. Sometimes Saturdays are required.
