> Previous experience with young children is a plus, but a passion for education is a must! Responsibilities in supporting the children will include: ● Clarifying and explaining instructions; ● Ensuring the child is able to use equipment and materials provided; ● Motivating and encouraging the child as required, whilst encouraging independence; ● Assisting in a range of areas, e.g. language, mathematics, reading, spelling, handwriting/presentation, behaviour, etc; ● Assisting class teacher to develop appropriate resources to support the children; ● Liaising with class teacher with regards to individual children’s Support Plans; ● Recording observations and summarising the children’s achievements in line with EYFS requirements ● Developing methods of promoting/reinforcing the child’s self-esteem. ● Leading key interventions across the year group. Responsibilities in supporting the class teacher will include: ● Assisting with teaching groups of children as directed by the class teacher. ● Delivering key interventions. ● Participating in cover arrangements for absent staff. ● Assisting with any personal or medical needs of the children that may arise. ● Participating in the evaluation and assessment of children. ● Providing regular feedback about the children to the teacher. ● Assisting with displays, filing, tidying, photocopying and the maintenance of resources. ● To be a member of the staff duty rotas.
