Payroll Assistant, Maidstone
Salary - £30,000
* Execute a full range of payroll responsibilities, handling annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly payrolls.
* Prepare and draft essential payroll documents, such as pay slips, P45s, and P60s.
* Process Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC as required, including end-of-year RTI submissions.
* Manage end-of-year processing and reconciliation tasks.
* Apply tax code changes accurately.
* Process payroll for new starters, leavers, absences, statutory leave, and pay.
* Generate and distribute payroll reports for management review.
* Ensure compliance with tax, National Insurance (NI), and pension contributions.
* Follow and contribute to refining payroll delivery processes.
* Serve as the first line of support for payroll-related queries.
* Support the finance team with general tasks, including reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end processes.
* Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships.
Qualifications:
1. 1-2 years of experience in a high-volume payroll environment.
2. GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C or above, with a solid grasp of UK payroll legislation and compliance.
3. Strong initiative and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
