Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager for our Mental Health care department to join our care home team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for providing high-quality care to residents, including those with dementia and other complex needs. As the Deputy Manager, you will support the overall management of the facility, ensuring that care plans are effectively implemented and that all staff members are motivated and trained to deliver exceptional service.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and support care staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
* Assist in operational management, including staff oversight and budget management.
* Maintain a person-centred approach, translating customer needs into tailored care and support.
* Oversee risk assessments in place.
* Foster partnerships with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and advocates.
* Develop in-depth knowledge of service users and staff through a balanced approach within a seven-day rota.
* Handle disciplinary issues.
* Conduct audits on budgets and finances and medication audits.
* Ensure all rotas are done timely and put in place.
* Develop, implement, and review individual care plans for residents, ensuring they meet their specific needs and preferences.
* Conduct regular assessments of residents’ health and wellbeing, adapting care strategies as necessary.
* Maintain accurate records of resident care and staff performance, reporting any concerns to the Manager promptly.
* Promote a culture of dignity and respect within the home, ensuring that all residents receive personalised attention.
* Liaise with families and external agencies to provide updates on resident progress and address any concerns.
Experience
* NVQ Level 3 in Care (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards relevant qualifications.
* Experience in Mental Health with an understanding of relevant regulations.
* Previous experience in a supervisory role within a care home or supported living setting is essential.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
* Knowledge of dementia care practices and experience in developing care plans for residents with varying needs.
* A background in assisted living environments is highly desirable.
* Relevant qualifications in health and social care or nursing would be advantageous.

Pay: £28,300.00-£36,075.00 per year
