Role & Responsibilities
As an Electrical Power System Engineer, you will design, develop, and integrate power subsystems for spacecraft, working within a small and highly skilled Avionics Team. This role interacts closely with other electronics specialists and avionics engineers to deliver mission-critical power solutions for in-orbit servicing applications.
* Design & develop spacecraft power systems from architecture to detailed electronics.
* Contribute to power electronics design and spacecraft power budgets.
* Ensure EMC compliance and define mitigation strategies.
* Manage subcontractors & key hardware deliverables.
* Define test plans, oversee validation & verification, and support flight operations.
* Generate technical documentation and participate in system reviews.
Team Structure & Reporting
Avionics Team – 3 members (including this role)
Interacts with: 20-person project team across multiple disciplines
Training Provided – Onboarding with the Avionics Manager & team
No management responsibilities in this role
No promotion prospects, but strong technical exposure
Ideal Candidate Profile
Must-Have
* BSc/MSc in Power Management, Electronics, Aerospace, Physics, or related field
* 5+ years in Power System & Electrical Engineering (systems or power electronics)
* Expertise In Space Power Electronics, Including
* Power conditioning & distribution
* DC/DC converters
* Solar arrays & regulation mechanisms
* Battery charge/discharge regulators
* Experience with spacecraft development & program reviews (MDR, PDR, CDR)
* Strong problem-solving & communication skills
Nice To Have
* Experience with Space Industry companies
* Advanced power electronics design & testing
* Hands-on hardware debugging & fault diagnosis
* Knowledge of ECSS, MIL & space industry standards
Work Permit & Eligibility
European citizens preferred. Candidates requiring residence or work permits may be considered under certain conditions.
