Fabricator Welder
Global Recruitment have an opportunity for a skilled and experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our clients team on a full-time basis. There is the opportunity to work on a range of interesting and challenging projects. Please note the main base for this role is Falkirk.
Salary: DOE + uplift for site work.
***OUTSIDE IR35 for limited company***
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding techniques to be used.
2. Setting up and operating welding equipment and tools, including TIG, MIG, and stick welding.
3. Performing welding and fabrication tasks, such as cutting, bending, and forming metal, using a variety of hand and power tools.
4. Inspecting and measuring finished products to ensure that they meet the required specifications and quality standards.
5. Identifying and reporting any defects or deviations from specifications to Manufacturing.
6. Attending client facilities/sites to carry out site installs as required.
7. Following all safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
8. Keeping equipment and work areas clean and well-maintained.
9. Collaborating with other members of the fabrication team to complete projects on schedule.
10. Continuously seeking ways to improve efficiency and quality.
Qualifications / Experience:
Required:
1. A relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship.
2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in welding and fabrication.
3. Strong knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques and equipment.
4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
5. Experience with TIG, MIG, and stick welding.
6. Strong attention to detail and quality control.
7. Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety regulations.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Good physical condition, as the job requires performing repetitive motions and lifting heavy materials.
Desirable:
1. Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
2. Experienced in carrying out installs on client's sites.
3. Site-specific safety qualifications (i.e Safety Passport, CSCS etc).
4. Qualified and Experienced in the use of Forklifts.
5. Experienced working within a fast-paced environment.
6. A valid clean driving licence is preferred.
