The Role:
The Retail Sales Assistant will be based at the Shepherd and Woodward shop, working across the 5 in-store departments and accommodating a 5-day work week, Monday to Sunday. The Retail Sales Assistant will take customers through the entire shopping process, providing excellent customer service with detailed knowledge of products and brands.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Being attentive to customers' needs to provide excellent customer service and deal with enquiries.
2. Processing cash and card payments.
3. Handling product returns and payment refund requests.
4. Reporting any inventory or service issues to management.
5. Promoting products based on the company's directives.
6. Arranging products on the shelves and on promotional displays (Merchandising).
7. Unpacking and sorting new stock deliveries.
8. Managing product inventory at the store and giving accurate feedback to the Buyer (for example, which products are selling well).
9. Independently overseeing stock movement and maintaining stock lists, replenishing as necessary.
The Candidate:
Successful applicants will demonstrate a helpful, enthusiastic nature and thrive in a busy shop floor environment. Applicants should possess a pleasant manner and enjoy dealing with the public, replenishing stock, and general housekeeping. Experience is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm and character are more important than experience as full training will be given. Candidates should have excellent people skills with the ability to work well in a team and a drive to succeed. Proficiency in using a point-of-sale system (POS) would be an advantage.
