On behalf of our client, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Site Engineer to join an established team in Fort William, working on a substation and overhead powerline project.
Position Details
Role: Senior Site Engineer
Location: Fort William, Scotland
Project Focus: Substation and overhead powerline construction
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Preparation and Execution:
Conduct site surveys, setting out, and levelling. Establish accurate reference points for infrastructure and structural works.
2. Technical Guidance and Compliance:
Interpret engineering documentation for compliance and guide project execution. Liaise with design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
3. Coordination and Support:
Collaborate with the site manager and team for material forecasting and subcontractor management. Provide on-site technical support and resolve challenges.
4. Monitoring and Documentation:
Inspect construction activities for adherence to quality and design standards. Maintain detailed site records, including as-built drawings and progress reports.
5. Safety and Planning:
Prepare risk assessments, method statements, and ensure compliance with health and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications and Skills
1. Education: Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
2. Experience: Proven site engineering background, particularly working on substation projects.
3. Technical Proficiency: Skilled in surveying equipment, CAD, and engineering software.
4. Core Skills:
Analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Knowledge Areas: Health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality systems.
