Halfords has invested significantly in the Garages Trading team, creating a dedicated Tyres Trading Squad to drive performance through expertise in marketing, pricing, ranging, and digital.
This pivotal role ensures leadership and functional heads have the business intelligence and insights needed for success, with the Business Intelligence Manager collaborating across teams, including Market Share, Pricing, Promotions, and Finance.
Key Accountabilities
1. Develop, collate and Maintain Reporting: Create and manage robust, accurate, and timely reporting tools to monitor tyre trading performance.
2. Analyse Trading Performance: Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of concern, providing actionable insights to enhance performance.
3. Support Strategic Decision-Making: Deliver clear, data-driven recommendations to leadership and functional heads, enabling informed decision-making.
4. Monitor Market Trends: Analyse competitor activity and market trends to inform trading decisions and highlight potential risks or opportunities.
5. Ensure Data Integrity: Oversee the accuracy and reliability of data sources, ensuring high-quality inputs for analysis and reporting.
6. Deliver Reporting Actions: Attend weekly Tyre Squad meetings, take ownership of data and reporting-related actions, and provide the team with accurate, clear, and easy-to-understand reports and data visualisations.
Key Skills & Experience
1. Strong Analytical Skills: Proven ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights.
2. Business Intelligence Expertise: Experience using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to create reports and dashboards.
3. Commercial Awareness: Understanding of trading performance metrics and their impact on business outcomes.
4. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including senior stakeholders.
5. Attention to Detail: High accuracy in reporting and ensuring data integrity.
6. Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in using Excel for data analysis, modelling, and visualisation.
7. Communication Skills: Ability to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
8. Experience in Retail or Automotive Sector is highly desirable.
