Project Engineer - Water Projects
Location: Manchester
Salary: £55,000 + car allowance + excellent benefits
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Northern Region team, managing multi-disciplinary projects within the water sector (United Utilities/Severn Trent Water). You will oversee key phases of project delivery, from concept development to handover, with a portfolio of projects ranging from £1m to £30m.
Key Responsibilities:
ECI Phase:
1. Attend site and client meetings.
2. Coordinate design activities, feasibility studies, and value engineering.
3. Support ITT documentation and estimation processes.
Detailed Design Phase:
1. Manage multidisciplinary supply chain teams and designers.
2. Oversee draft drawings, document control, and attend design meetings.
Construction Phase:
1. Transition from design to delivery phase.
2. Coordinate technical queries and procurement schedules.
3. Support H&S file preparation and commissioning plans.
Handover and Commissioning:
1. Ensure smooth project handover with complete documentation.
2. Support post-project reviews.
Key Relationships:
1. Internal teams: Regional Managers, Project Managers, MEICA Managers.
2. External: Supply Chain Partners, Clients, and Stakeholders.
Requirements:
Essential:
1. Background in Civil Engineering, with experience in water sector projects.
2. Knowledge of CDM regulations, contract management, and programme planning (Primavera P6 or equivalent).
3. Proficiency in Office 365 and document control platforms (e.g., SharePoint).
4. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
5. Relevant qualifications: Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, CSCS Manager's Card, SSSTS/SMSTS.
Desirable:
1. MEICA experience and CAD software proficiency.
