Post Title: Maintenance Engineer
Working Hours: 8.00am till 4.30pm Monday to Friday
Overtime as and when required Monday to Friday and occasional weekends.
Holiday: 20 days per annum plus Bank Holidays
Location: Central London, Home Counties and Nationwide
Transportation: Company van supplied (clean licence required)
Job Overview: To provide efficient and effective mobile engineer maintenance support to the offices/buildings including ensuring the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards. Liaise direct with Clients and enhance working relationships.
Other: The postholder will be expected to observe safe working practices in carrying out the required duties and ensure that instructions specified by technical consultants, contractors and manufacturers are adhered to.
Job Responsibilities:
1. To ensure heating plant and equipment is efficiently and effectively operated, make adjustments as necessary and report defects and malfunctions to the Manager.
2. To clean light fittings and to test lighting systems weekly, replacing where necessary minor parts such as tubes, bulbs, ballasts, transformers, fuses, starters, and diffusers, in accordance with safe working practices.
3. To arrange to clear blockages, remove foreign matter from sinks, toilets, drains, kitchen grease traps, etc., and clean up spillages as required.
4. To ensure that gullies, drains, etc. are kept free from debris.
5. To undertake removal tasks as required including setting up and clearing away furniture, relocating office furniture, and full office relocations.
6. To undertake handyperson duties as directed by the Manager, including but not limited to:
1. Painting and Decorating - as required
2. Joinery - First line maintenance of fixtures and fittings, e.g., tightening screws on window hinges, maintenance on door handles, minor repairs as a temporary measure after break-ins, vandalism, etc. Installation/Replacement of Door Closers, skirting boards, MF Ceilings & replacing locks.
3. Plumbing - unblocking sinks, traps, and waste pipes. Adjustment and re-washering of taps. Installation of replacement siphons & Cisterns, toilet and sink wear including taps and drainage.
4. Internal Glazing - Remedial action after break-ins, e.g., boarding up of broken windows.
7. To control the provision and replenish toiletry items, including requisition, storage, and distribution of such items.
8. To monitor stock levels of consumable items such as light bulbs/tubes and arrange to replenish supplies in accordance with current procedures.
9. To report emergencies in the case of faults with gas, electric, and water supply to the Manager, or where not immediately available technical services or regular contractors, and report minor faults on site to the Manager.
10. To carry out grounds maintenance, including Garden Maintenance, sweeping rubbish, and clearing leaves.
11. To comply with the requirements of Health and Safety and carry out weekly fire alarm tests, emergency light tests, and assist with evacuation procedures.
12. To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.

Pay: £38,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
