CUH Theatres, which is included in both Addenbrooke's Hospital and the Rosie Hospital, employ over 600 staff who work across a total of 37 operating theatres. In main theatres there are 22 theatres split into three units. We are a regional Major Trauma Centre and in doing so serve a very wide and complex population.
Aspiring candidates who wish to join our team as a Band 5 ODP or RN (anaesthetic nurse) can explore numerous development opportunities. These include our PG Cert Perioperative Medicine, offered in partnership with University College London (UCL), as well as prospects for further education and professional growth leading to a Master's degree.
Main duties of the job
* To work as part of the multidisciplinary team, providing safe and effective care for patients during the Perioperative period.
* To work as Anaesthetics practitioner in all clinical areas.
* To undertake the management of a defined clinical area in accordance with own competence and level of experience when required.
* To participate as an integral member of the theatre team.
* Participate in the supervision and training of students and junior staff.

* RN/ ODA/ODP
* Evidence of continued professional development
* NMC of HCPC active registration or awaiting registration number

* Relevant Teaching and assessing qualification (or must be willing to work towards whilst in post)

* Clinically current in Perioperative practice
* Relevant perioperative teaching and management experience required for senior Band 5 practitioners
