This school looks after children who have been diagnosed with Autism, many of whom also have co-existing issues such as social, emotional, and mental health needs.
The school needs a Learning Support Assistant to support their students in day-to-day activities. The students that attend this school are between the ages of 4 and 16, each with a personalised educational and health care plan and individual intervention plans designed to help them thrive. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will help ensure that they complete their academic work while navigating their emotions and learning functional life skills to promote independence.
What you can expect as a Learning Support Assistant:
* Deliver specific interventions designed with the student’s needs and goals in mind
* De-escalate any meltdowns and behavior that may occur
* Help the children work through their big emotions
