Childcare Sufficiency and Business Support Officer
Role Purpose
You will be responsible for the administration of funds for the provision of settings for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.
You will also deliver a high level customer care when dealing with reception and telephone calls from parents, professionals and members of the public to the Children's Centre/Family Hub.
To improve outcomes for disadvantaged children by ensuring take-up of places by eligible 2 year olds, and to work with the Business Support, Sufficiency & Cohesion Manager to support the Childcare Sufficiency Monitoring Officer in ensuring other additional funding available for those places is secured.
Additionally you will act as business co-ordinator to ensure efficiency in financial Administrative and ICT practices.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carrying out daily administrative duties enabling the smooth running of the services to families.
2. Undertake reception duties and act as a first point of contact for service users in Children's Centres.
3. To work with parents to identify children who are eligible for placements and secure places for them in appropriate settings.
4. Liaise with the Area Early Intervention Lead to maintain the physical space of the Centre.
5. To assist in the monitoring of expenditure against budget headings and report any variances across all cost centres.
Requirements
We are looking to fill one Permanent post and one Fixed Term Contract post for 12 months. Both posts are full-time, based in the South West locality of the Borough.
Ideally a relevant Level 2 qualification or relevant professional experience.
Experience of face-to-face interaction with parents & service users.
You will have well-developed ICT skills, specifically with regards to Microsoft Word & Excel, and some design-based packages.
Have the ability to develop effective partnerships within the Council, with private sector and other external agencies - both statutory and voluntary.
