THE SEARCH: Altus Partners are partnering with a Private Equity backed multi-site business (150 sites) who are looking to appoint a Group Financial Controller to strengthen their Finance Senior Leadership Team. This position reports directly into the CFO and will also have high exposure to the Board. The business has annual revenues of £200m with a healthy EBITDA and highly ambitious growth plans, including ongoing strategic M&A activity. The current value creation plan comes with an expectation to exit within the next 2-3 years, where the Group Financial Controller will be pivotal to ensuring the business is prepared for this event. UK Headquarters are near Redhill, where the successfully appointed candidate will need to be a visible on-site leader within the organisation. THE ROLE: The Group Financial Controller will be a ‘hands on’ finance leader with a strong track record of developing teams and leading finance transformation projects. Key responsibilities Reporting directly into the CFO, you will take full responsibility and ownership of the businesses Financial Controls, including Month End Reporting, Year End Accounting, Audit, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit Control. Leading and developing the finance team (4 direct / 20 indirect reports), executing regular training, upskilling initiatives and personal development plans. Ongoing development and improvement of internal controls and processes, including the documentation of implemented efficiencies. Proactive utilisation of the ERP system to further streamline internal reporting processes and lead the eventual implementation of an upgraded version. M&A due diligence on potential acquisitions and the effective integration of new entities into the business. Working in close collaboration with the FP&A Team and Operational Leadership to effectively achieve business goals. A commercial approach to Controllership, adding key strategic input to the business. Deputising for the CFO when required. THE REQUIREMENTS Qualified Accountant Proven experience as a Financial Controller within a multi-site environment, where you have successfully developed teams and led finance transformation initiatives. Private Equity exposure would be a nice to have for this position, but it is not a pre-requisite. Hybrid / Flexible working is available, with a requirement to be on-site in Redhill 3 days per week.
