Job summary Have you considered nursing in Outpatients? The Ear, Nose and Throat Outpatient Team would welcome applications from a Senior Health Care Assistantwho enjoy working independently and working within a team in being instrumental in providing patient focused care. This is a part time role of 22.5 hours per week over two and a half days with the post holder having a flexible approach to shift patterns to meet the demands of the service. The successful candidate will join a well-established team and will need to be flexible and adaptable, a good team player with the ability to work well on their own initiative and a willingness to take on a variety of duties, whilst having the ability to maintain attention to detail. You will ideally have knowledge or experience within a surgical ward environment and previous experiencing of nursing patients with ear, nose or throat conditions. Main duties of the job Highlighted below are some of the nursing skills needed for a fast-paced working area such as Outpatients: The ability to work both independently and as part of the wider Multidisciplinary Team Supporting and assisting your consultant colleagues in the smooth running of their clinics. Acting as a chaperone. Being able to undertake baseline measurements; BMI, blood pressures, blood sugar monitoring, ECG's, Urinalysis as well as venepuncture and/or cannulation. If you do not already possessall required skills, additional training will be given to support you in this role, but this may initially be at a Band 2 until all Band 3 competencies have been achieved.
