Orthoptic and Optometry Clerical Officer
This is an exciting opportunity to work in Ophthalmology as a Band 3 Clerical Officer for the Orthoptic and Optometry departments. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team with a varied mix of administrative and patient-facing duties.
Main Duties of the Job
You will be responsible for the front-line clerical service for the Orthoptic and Optometry department. This involves:
1. Locating and preparing health records for clinics.
2. Welcoming patients to the Optometry and Orthoptic Department.
3. Booking patients in and out of the clinics.
4. Assisting in the management and booking of Orthoptic and Optometry waiting lists by actioning referrals from ERS and emails.
5. Cashing clinics up and arranging follow-up appointments.
6. Dealing with telephone and face-to-face enquiries from patients, relatives, and carers.
Self-motivation, initiative, flexibility with daily tasks, and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent working experience.
* Undertaken customer service course in relation to communication.
* Recognised IT qualification.
Experience
* Experience of working with the general public.
* Experience of working in a reception team.
* Telephone/customer service experience.
* Experience working in the NHS or other health care setting.
Skills
* Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
* Self-motivated and proactive.
* Ability to enter data precisely.
* Non-clinical manual handling experience.

Salary: £24,071 to £25,674 per annum pro rata.
