We are searching for an F&DT Engineer to perform analysis in support of Engineering project requirements for fuselage related civil aerospace products and their components and in support of the development of existing and new products/structures.
Responsibilities
* Liaise with the Stress and Design Teams to deliver certification analysis reports and workfiles to the required standard according to the Programme, Technical Authority and Chief Engineers milestones.
* Ensure structural integrity aspects of the Components/Sub-modules.
* Carry out Stress analysis calculations to assess design solutions for a whole range of tasks, potentially from concept and structural development to certification, including modifications.
* Support the structural design process to ensure required quality is achieved within direct area of responsibility.
* Resolve technical issues independently and report critical technical issues to the Chief Engineer and/or Technical Authority.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency.
* Interface with adjacent work packages or sub-assemblies.
* Mentor engineers in his/her area of expertise.
* Utilize structural testing methods and interpret results.
* Skilled in tools such as CATIA V5, NASGRO, Hyperworks, NASTRAN, PATRAN, MATHCAD, EXCEL, PYTHON.
* Estimate and negotiate with the customer.
* Prepare Bid documentation.
* Understand Bombardier processes and expectations.
Qualifications
* BE or equivalent in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical Engineering or relevant subject.
Essential skills
* Knowledge of Global Express and derivatives.
* Strong knowledge of F&DT stress analysis.
* Experience in the design, development and qualification of airframes and vehicle systems, including expertise in:
* In-depth knowledge of airframe static stress analysis techniques, hand calculation methods (including MathCAD), finite element techniques (especially Nastran and Hypermesh), derivation of material and component allowable (including statistical techniques).
* In-depth knowledge of airframe fatigue substantiation, including safe life and fracture mechanics techniques.
* Strong knowledge of the overall static structural substantiation process.
* Strong knowledge of the overall fatigue substantiation process.
* Strong knowledge of relevant airworthiness requirements related to airframes.
* Strong understanding of estimating and early recognition of change to aid in customer negotiations.
* Strong composites structures know-how.
* Recognised Signature for Static and/or Fatigue.
* Ability to juggle priorities and work streams.
Experience
* Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
* Experience with NASGRO, NASTRAN, Patran, Hyperworks, Python, CATIA.
