Special Needs Teacher

£140 to £220 per Day
Working Pattern: Full time (non-negotiable)
Start Date: From April 2025, or as soon as possible (subject to satisfactory clearances)
One of our schools caters for students, aged from 3 to 19 years, who have a primary diagnosis of Autism. They focus on supporting their children and young adults to reach their full potential through a variety of different methods such as supporting their sensory development and learning life skills.
We are looking for staff who want to assist children with their progression and make a highly valued, positive difference in their lives. The Ideal Candidate will:
1. Have knowledge of assessment and teaching strategies appropriate to children with Special Educational Needs.
2. Be familiar with the current legislative framework within which teachers operate, including the SEN Code of Practice, Curriculum 2000, and Literacy and Numeracy.
3. Possess the ability to relate to and empathise with children who may have complex and severe learning difficulties.
4. Exhibit effective group management skills of children with moderate to severe autism and, in some classes, challenging behaviour.
5. Be able to plan and teach to meet the individual needs of the children.
6. Have an ability to empathise with the children and provide a structure that facilitates emotional and social development.
To be successful in applying for this role, you must have a DFE recognised QTS or equivalent.
As an agency worker, you are only paid for the days you have worked; therefore, you will not be paid during the school holidays.
