We are seeking interested applicants who have achieved or are expected to achieve an ecology or conservation related degree – that’s it! No prior experience needed.
Key skills / attributes that we’d be looking for from the successful candidate are:
* Ecology and conservation knowledge, including legislation
* Attention to detail is key to this role
* Effective communication and the ability to work with, build and maintain relationships with different stakeholders
Working with the Natural and Social Capital team, you will provide advice on ecology and conservation matters across the business. You will work with the team to deliver our ambitious biodiversity ambitions through our Section 6 duty, AMP 8 programme and overarching strategy. You’ll undertake site surveys across our operational assets for Invasive non-native species (INNS) and work with stakeholders on removal - this could include volunteer days and team building days.
During your role, you will:
* Look at the companies Biodiversity Management Plans and update where possible.
* Shadow eNGOs on our current projects where possible including project board and delivery meetings to gain experience.
* Work with our biodiversity champions and also help with the development of any citizen science that is needed across our programme of work.
* Work with DCWW comms, internal and external, on project updates and key messaging including any awareness campaigns that are needed.

Good to know
Your graduate scheme will be based across Wales, and with notice you may be expected to travel to sites across the whole of Wales and its Borders.
Recruitment process - we are running our adverts until December 8th. Should your application meet our criteria, you’ll be sent a short assessment to complete. The second stage of assessment will be an in-person assessment centre, which will likely take place between February/March 2025. Further information will be provided closer to the time.
