An opportunity has arisen to expand the emergency dental service team. We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and highly motivated, qualified GDC registered Dental Nurses to work within our busy Emergency Dental Service at our Kendal clinic.
Sessions are held weekday evenings Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 17:45 until 21:45 and Saturday, Sundays and Bank Holidays 08:15 until 12:15.
This is a bank position and sessions will be offered as and when cover is needed. We need cover predominately more for evening sessions.
Main duties of the job
* To provide clinical and clerical support to Trust employed Dental Practitioners Operating in the NCIC Emergency Dental Service.
* To be the link between the patient and the clinician.
* To prepare the surgery for the patient and assist the dentist in a range of emergency dental care.
* To undertake reception duties and carry out administrative and filing duties (either electronically or paper-based) within the Emergency Dental Service within Furness and South Lakes.

Person Specification
Knowledge, Training & Experience
* National Certificate NEBDN or equivalent education, e.g. NVQ Level III Oral Healthcare.
* Current GDC Registration held or currently enrolled on a training course.
* Science-based subject at GCSE.
* Applied IM& T.
* ECDL.
* First Aid/Basic life support training.
* Knowledge of the Special Care Dental Service Pathway and Criteria.
* Knowledge of Local Protocol for accessing Emergency Care via Dental Direct and Triage system.
Other requirements
* Flexible and Adaptable.
* Ability to travel round Cumbria sites.
