Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Stockport Pay Rates: £89-£94 Per day Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday Reeson are working closely with an SEMH school in Stockport who are looking to find an experienced and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time, long-term role to start in as soon as possible. This role working with children with complex SEMH needs requires a strong SEMH Teaching assistant with lots of experience. The students display challenging behaviours, so it is important that you are resilient with a patient and calm demeanour. SEMH Teaching Assistant responsibilities: Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities Support the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aimed at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures Support class teachers with managing behaviour effectively to ensure an engaging and safe learning environment Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment Observe pupil performance and pass observations on to the class teacher and supervise a class if the teacher is temporarily unavailable SEMH Teaching Assistant Qualifications/experience: Experience: A SEMH Teaching assistant with a minimum of 6 months' work/volunteer experience with children or young people and working with additional needs. Qualifications: Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant/childcare or relevant, valuable experience that can be referenced professionally. Skills: Excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, teachers, and parents. Attributes: A passion for supporting children's education, a proactive approach, and a willingness to adapt to different school environments.
